Bucas Grande and Sohoton Cove

Processed with VSCO with g3 preset

As if we haven’t got tired of boat rides, we did not pass up the chance to see the islets of Bucas Grande and the wonders of Sohoton Cove. We entered caves, played with sting-less jellyfishes, jumped 15-ft high onto the waters, and ate lunch with a beautiful view. It cost us heaps but it was fantastic.

Siargao Island

We were exhausted from yesterday’s day trip but not too much for me not to feel the 4 AM aftershock from Tandag. It wasn’t that disturbing, and although the thought of experiencing aftershocks while we could be well on our way on this trip might be scary, I was somehow feeling good about our safety while we’re there.

When in Surigao: Tinuy-An Falls

From Butuan Airport, we took the 4-hour van ride to Mangagoy, Bislig, where we immediately found ourselves a habal-habal driver, Kuya Don Don. We ate at Ocean View Park for lunch and had a short trip to a doll museum next to the restaurant. By the time we finished, the rain was pouring and I began to get worried if we can still make it to the falls with a weather like this, on  a motorbike, with our backpacks.

“Kaya po yan ma’am, sir!” said Kuya Don Don who also pointed at his motorbike which surprisingly has a roof! Seeing the roof on the motorbike triggered wide smiles on our faces. We went off to see the beautiful Tinuy-An Falls.

Of Waves, Rivers, Falls, and Caves: Surigao and Siargao

Rarely does a time come when everything was laid out in front of you smoothly. Not perfect, but smooth. Apart from amazing, that’s how I would describe my recent DIY trip to Surigao with Jen. And so far, it was one of the best ones I’ve had.

It was careless of us to still go despite the 6.7 earthquake that occurred in Surigao the night before our flight. It was way more careless of us to sleep through the night and wake up one hour before our flight. One hour. What’s wrong with us?
