After we dropped our bags in our cute little homestay in Punta Verde, we spent the rest of the day exploring more of Palaui. Our first activity is a hike towards Cape Engaño.
It was a two hour trek and what a treat the views were! It was impossible for me to make quick longs steps when what was lying before my eyes is the mother earth and her raw beauty!
We walked by the shores of Punta Verde before we moved deeper into the woods. We followed the easier and shorter trail to the cape, the Lagunzad Trail. Leonardo Trail is another trail to the cape but it’s longer and a bit more challenging.
After the views of the shore, the trail led us to an open field of greens, where the sun shone like a king. Yes it was hot! But then the weather was perfect for a view like this. Napakaganda.
Feeling Heidi ako dito, hehe. Anyway, after passing by this field, we started the real hike, into the woods.
It was fun and we were accompanied by the sounds of the birds I never saw, I wish I did. Another meadow greeted us after the trail. Also we had a peek of the twin island, Dos Hermanas.
After the two hour trek came a reward waiting for us, the lovely Cape Engaño and its amazing views.
A resting area greeted us after the trekking. There were stores selling refreshments. We had halo halo and it tasted so yummy. Andaming sahog, sarap! Topped with caramel, the halo halo was truly a heaven in heaven. Heavenception lol
Also, the beach was undeniably beautiful, again, heaven.
There in Cape Engaño is a lighthouse. We climbed the cemented steps and was treated a wonderful view of the entire cape.
After a few minutes and a few photoshoots, we arrived at the lighthouse.
It wasn’t whimsical or fancy at all and for me the ruins wasn’t as charming as other ruins I’ve seen but it has a certain beauty of its own.
Walking further, I arrived at the back of the lighthouse where I found the most amazing view, the twin island of Dos Hermanas.
That daytrip was definitely worth the sweat. After a satisfying amount of time simply admiring everything and taking in the raw beauty of what lies before our eyes, we climbed down and hopped on the boat to get to our next destination, the Crocodile Island.
